Fly-out CARIBOU HUNTS - September 1 - 15

Our unguided caribou hunts are conducted in Units 9 & 17 west of the Alaska Range, approximately 2 hours of flight time away. This area includes most of the Mulchatna River Drainage and surrounding country. Barren Ground Caribou are the largest of the 5 caribou species. Their migratory travel pattern takes hunting from tundra lowlands to open rolling hillsides. Groups range in number from 5 to hundreds of animals.

The advantage we have over most outfitters is 30 years experience in this area. The extensive range of caribou requires us to spend substantial time scouting for concentrations of animals to ensure successful hunts. Our float planes give us access to hundreds of remote lakes in the heart of prime caribou habitat. We take pride in our hunter success rate over the years and strive to make each hunt a successful and memorable experience.

Moose hunts are conducted in Units 9 & 17 west of the Alaska Range, approximately 2 hours of flight time away. This area includes most of the Mulchatna River Drainage and surrounding country. Majestic moose are found in the lower timbered wetlands. The advantage we have over most outfitters is 30 years experience in this area. Our float planes give us access to hundreds of remote lakes in the heart of prime moose habitat. These areas are used for both our unguided and guided hunts. The bulls we take are averaging in the 50" to 60" range. Our largest moose taken in the last several years was 70". We take pride in our hunter success rate over the years and strive to make each hunt a successful and memorable experience.

Fly-out BLACK BEAR HUNTS - Spring: 6/05 - 6/20 - Fall: 8/15 - 9/20

Our Black Bear hunts are conducted in two different parts of Alaska. One of these locations is Unit 15, which is a portion of the Kenai Mountain Range, approximately 30 minutes of flight time away from our base of operation. In this location you will only be hunting for black bear (without special permit drawing for other big game).

The other locations are Units 9 & 17 west of the Alaska Range approximately 2 hours of flight time away. This hunt is Fall only but with the right timing and an additional fee, moose or caribou could be combined without special permit drawing. For a good black bear hunt we recommend up to 6 days in the field. There's a good population of black bears in this areas with mature bears averaging five and a half to six feet squared. The overall hunt success varies greatly, depending on weather, and hunters physical condition. These hunts are spot and stalk and require a fair amount of hiking.
